DAO Outreach Strategy: From Search to Partnership

In this material, we’re sharing one of our tools for gathering crypto communities. It’s suitable for both early-stage projects and those with an established history.

The core idea is to find DAOs and organize partnership activities with them.

The method consists of three stages:

  1. Searching for active DAOs — communities open to joint activities.
  2. Finding contacts for direct outreach.
  3. Proposing a partnership and initiating communication.
  4. This leads to the start of negotiations and the organization of a joint activity, such as a giveaway or AMA session.

Searching for active DAOs

We usually start by looking for listings and curated collections where we can find up-to-date information. In this case, such resources do exist, but the number of DAOs they include is relatively low.

Example: Only 100 communities — that’s not enough.

So we decided to try using Twitter search, and it turned out to be the right move.

Twitter search provides thousands of results with active communities:

We decided to focus our further efforts specifically on this tool.

Twitter Parsing

Twitter Parsing

This task was easier for us since we already have a working tool — influbalance.com — and experience in parsing social media platforms.

We built a simple parser and were able to extract 1,500 DAOs.

The result is compiled into a table that includes: Name, Account, and Description.

The next step is to collect website names. We launch parsing in this direction while simultaneously trying to extract emails based on account names. Working in both directions speeds up the process of collecting emails for communication.

As a result, we get a table with direct DAO contacts. Out of 1,500 communities, we end up with around 1,000 verified DAOs we can start communicating with.

Outreach to the DAO database

For outreach, we use Instantly — a tool that has been tested over the years across several of our units.

We upload the database and set up a communication sequence, usually consisting of 4–5 emails with timed delays.

The effectiveness of this approach

The positive response rate is around 3–7%.

From our database of 1,000 contacts, this results in 30–70 decision-makers (DAOs) with whom we initiate negotiations. At least 40% of them move on to the next stage — organizing joint activities.
